Intermediate Unix Tech/Admin (Service), Vancouver, Canada
Our Service department is looking for an Intermediate Unix Tech/Admin who is comfortable in Solaris, intimate with Apache, and cozy with sendmail to join our Systems and Support team. While mostly this is a grunt job for an anal-retentive, details-oriented, control-freak geek with a passion for the Internet. Technical qualitifications alone are not sufficient for this position. Reliability and communication skills, including the ability to deal with civilians, will define the successful candidate. Security and background checks will form a part of the screening process. Intrinsix is looking for two part-time web programmer/client specialists to assist our Service team with on-going development and maintenance for established clients. If your idea of a "webpage authoring tool" is Dreamweaver, FrontPage, or PageMill, then this is not the job for you. But if you write your code in BBEdit/NotePad/vi, and understand the difference between cgi and css, then we would love to hear from you. Slackers, hotshots, and unreliable types need not apply. But if you are bright, friendly and professional, and most of all, willing to learn, then contact us. The successful applicant will have superior written and oral communication skills, and be an outstanding organizer. Day to day, this job requires responding to client requests, and providing general front-line support and communications via telephone and the Internet, so excellent communication skills are a must. The ability to speak and write in French or Spanish would be a great advantage, but is not essential. This position is ideal for a university or college student, it is flex-time, expected 10-15 hours a week, scheduled between 9-5pm. Wage scale is DOQ. Delivering cutting-edge solutions to west-coast markets is a challenging job, and doing it with Intrinsix is doubly daunting. A related background in a design profession, field management, or technology will be an asset, but is not essential. Superior Illustrator / Model Builder, Los Angeles or remote
Our too-cool partner office in Lalaland requires a superior bit-slinger to live in Bryce, Illustrator, and various 3D applications for approx 300 hours per week. Caffeine, guarana and ginseng will be supplied. A very strong 3D portfolio is required (both environmental and modelling). Web experience isn't necessary, but digital comfort is required. We are seeking an exceptional graphic designer in the Lone Star state with experience in corporate design to join our integrated studio. While this is a design position, applicants who also exhibit strong illustration skills may receive special treatment. Superior communication skills and the ability to do whatever's necessary to meet a deadline are absolute requirements. In other words, this job is all about spelling and speed.
